Schools out for the summer! In 2021, Theatre31 brought a summer festival to four areas of Medway and Sheppey, in celebration of young people and the final easing of lockdown restrictions.
The Theatre31 Summer Festival allows young people to engage and take part in drama-base activities over a fun-packed two days, where they expect to learn new skills, make new friends, and have fun!
Improvisation and creative play are at the heart of what we do, and this two day specially curated event will allow young people to interact with our games and activities, in a meaningful and authentic way. Theatre31’s youth led approach invites students to build communication and confidence skills, whilst enjoying an outlet for self-expression.
Led by our team of professional Facilitators and Theatre Assistants, day one will see a fast-paced workshop session, as participants are led on a fun packed whistle-stop tour of three masterclasses, each focussing on a different theatre based artform. Lastly, on day two, our young artists will be guided through a collaborative journey to devise and create their very own piece of theatre to be shared with friends and family at the end of the day!
The event was free to those living in Medway and Sheppey and is the perfect way to celebrate creativity and champion young people whether they are drama fanatics or complete novices.
